Frequently asked questions
What is mallow?
mallow (mallow: Photocard Maker) is an iPhone and iPad app to make photocards from your own photos, decorate them with die-cut stickers in holo, glitter, gloss or matte, and print them true to size on any printer.
What size is a photocard?
A standard photocard is 55 × 85 mm (2.17 × 3.35 in). mallow also has instax mini (54 × 86 mm) and square (64 × 64 mm) sizes.
Is mallow free?
Yes. Blank sizes, the editor, filters, printing and the basic sticker kit are free with no account. mallow+ is an optional subscription for custom sticker kits and AI features.
Why does my printed photocard come out smaller?
Almost always because of scaling: the print dialog is set to “fit to page” or “borderless”. Print at 100 %, and if it is still off, print mallow’s test ruler and correct your printer’s scale once.
How many photocards fit on one sheet?
With 2 mm of bleed and crop marks, 9 photocards fit on an A4 sheet and 8 on US Letter. Square cards fit 6 per sheet.
Which printers work?
Any AirPrint inkjet or laser printer, Canon SELPHY, Zink printers like HP Sprocket, instax mini Link, print shops (PDF with crop marks) and convenience-store printers in Japan.
What paper should I use for photocards?
Glossy photo paper for the brightest colors, or 200–300 gsm matte cardstock for an official-card feel. For laser printers, use laser cardstock only.
Do holo and glitter stickers print shiny?
No. Holo and glitter are on-screen effects that follow your phone’s tilt; on paper they print flat. For real shine, print on holographic vinyl.
Do I need an account?
No. mallow works without signing up, and your photos are stored only on your device.
Does mallow work on iPad?
Yes, from day one: a fixed inspector next to the card, every orientation, Split View and Stage Manager, a menu bar and keyboard shortcuts.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. mallow launches on iPhone and iPad first (iOS 18 or later); Android is planned next.
Which languages does mallow support?
English, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French and Brazilian Portuguese.
